Odds and Ends

We've had a lot going on the last week or so. One of my college roommates came to visit Valentine's Day weekend. She is getting married in October, and that is really exciting! Friday we went to a Campbell Basketball game. It was the first game that we watched in the new convocation center. It is so different that the old gym; it actually feels like a real college basketball arena That night when we walked out of the game there was almost two inches of snow on my car. I then had to drive home on snow covered roads. It was an interesting (and long) trip. Campbell won their game that night so it was all worth it. The next day we hung out together and went to the Flying Biscuit for the first time. The Flying Biscuit is amazing!!! The cranberry apple butter is out of this world!

In other news, Josh and I are under contract on a house. We actually found out that our offer was accepted as we were leaving the Flying Biscuit. We are super excited about the house!!! Our closing date is April 1st. I never realized how stressful this whole process is. There are pre-approvals, offers, counter-offers, loans, good faith estimates, home inspection, contracts, closing....ahhh, so many things. The home inspection was today, and everything went well. I can't wait until we can move in and this whole process is behind us. Below is a picture of our house. :)

This past weekend Josh and I went on a Volunteer Retreat weekend. We had a blast!!! We didn't get a whole lot of sleep because we played several games, including Mexican Train. We also learned a lot about ourselves and things our ministry needs. I can't wait to see what God has in store for our group!

Neti-Pot

For those of you who have not heard me talk about the Neti-Pot, this post is for you. Just so we are all on the same page, the Neti-Pot is a sinus irrigation system. It is a little pot that you put a saline powder in, and then add warm water. You then let the water drain through your sinuses. The results are amazing!!!!! (I don't think I can emphasize that enough.) It gets rid of congestion without having to take a decongestant (which don't really work anyway). You can use the Neti-Pot as often as needed and there are no side effects. Josh still thinks that it is gross, so I haven't convinced him to use it...yet...but there are other people who will attest that it really is wonderful. You can use it when sinus congestion starts and I truly believe that it helps the common cold from taking over. It will also helps with the ability to breathe more easily. I personally have always hated only being able to breathe through only one side of my nose, especially when I sleep. When I feel congested, I use the Neti-Pot before bed and I sleep much better. That is all that is on my mind tonight. I'm going to use my Neti-Pot and hit the hay. I went back to school today and I am exhausted!!!

Lets give this a try

I've always wanted to have a blog but for several reasons I've never committed to it. The main reason is because I don't think my life provides enough interesting material for a blog. The second is due to the fact that I am not really disciplined enough to keep it updated. I figured I'd give this a try now so that I have a written record of all of the exciting adventures in our lives.

The next adventure of our lives is buying a house. Josh and I have looked at quite a few houses recently and have found one that we would like to make an offer on. We are waiting to get all of our ducks in a row and will hopefully be making an offer in the next couple of days. I am so excited!!!!

In other (not as interesting) news, I go back to school this Thursday. I have been tracked out for the last three weeks. In those three weeks I've gone skiing for the first time, watched it snow/sleet, had my mom and grandma visit and watched the Saints win the Superbowl. (Okay so the lat thing was the least interesting, but I did get to hang out with a bunch of cool people.)

Josh is working a the Director of Billing and Technology at Family Legacy Mental Health Inc. He has been working there since August when he finished his Master's Thesis.
